Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure exceeds the normal threshold (≥140/90 mmHg), potentially leading to serious complications and mortality. Stress is recognized as one of the contributing factors that can significantly influence physiological responses, including fluctuations in blood pressure. This study aimed to examine the relationship between stress levels and blood pressure changes in hypertensive patients hospitalized at RSUD Mokopido Tolitoli. This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted from May 27 to June 26, 2025. A total of 57 respondents were recruited using a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results demonstrated a statistically significant relationship between stress levels and blood pressure changes in hypertensive patients (ρ = 0.000; α = 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. It is concluded that stress level is significantly associated with blood pressure changes in hypertensive patients at RSUD Mokopido Tolitoli. Therefore, stress management should be integrated as an essential component in the clinical management of hypertensive patients in hospital settings.
