Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Dan Beban Kerja Perawat Dengan Kepatuhan Pelaksanaan Universal Precaution Di Ruang Tindakan Uptd Puskesmas Nambo Desa Lumbe Kecamatan Nambo
Abstract
Universal precaution (UP) is a standard practice of infection prevention against the transmission of pathogens through blood and bodily fluids, which must be implemented by all healthcare workers. This practice encompasses hand hygiene, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper medical waste disposal, as well as sterilization and disinfection of medical instruments. Compliance with UP among nurses is influenced by multiple factors, including knowledge level and workload. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurses' knowledge level and workload with compliance in implementing universal precautions in the Treatment Room of UPTD Puskesmas Nambo, Lumbe Village, Nambo District. This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted from November 12 to December 12, 2025. A total of 40 respondents were recruited using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results indicated a statistically significant relationship between nurses' knowledge level and compliance with universal precaution implementation (ρ = 0.000; α = 0.05), as well as between workload and compliance (ρ = 0.008; α = 0.05). These findings conclude that both knowledge level and workload are significantly associated with nurses' compliance in implementing universal precautions in the Treatment Room of UPTD Puskesmas Nambo
