IDENTIFIKASI POLA ASUH ORANG TUA PADA ANAK PRA-SEKOLAH DI PAUD AL-KAHFI
Abstract
The preschool period is considered a “golden age” (3–6 years), which plays a crucial role in shaping children’s self-confidence, independence, and social abilities. During this stage, parenting style plays an important role in forming children’s character and behavior. This study aims to identify the parenting styles applied by parents of preschool children at PAUD Al-Kahfi. This research employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population as well as the sample consisted of 40 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed descriptively, followed by Gamma and Somers’d statistical tests to determine emerging parenting tendencies. The findings showed that the democratic parenting style was the most dominantly applied by parents (42%), followed by authoritarian (35.0%) and permissive styles (22.5%). These results indicate that most parents have implemented parenting styles that support the development of positive attitudes in children, although some parents still apply less appropriate parenting approaches. This study is expected to serve as a reference for parents, educators, and health workers in improving appropriate parenting practices to support the optimal growth and development of preschool children
