EFFECTIVENESS OF BANANA FRUIT ON REDUCING DIASTOL BLOOD PRESSURE IN PREGNANT WOMEN AT BARUGA HEALTH CENTER
Abstract
Hypertension in pregnancy is an increase in blood preassure of 140/90 mmHg and can be the beginning of cases of eclampsia. Bananas have a high potassium content which can help reduce and lower lod pressure. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of giving bananas to reducing diastolic blood pressure in pregnant women at the Baruga Health Center, Bantaeng Regency. The type of research used is experimentation with pre-experimental methods, in this study using non-probability sampling using a one group pre-test post-test design. The sample in this study were 15 people with a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the observation sheet and analyzed using the paired sample test with a short significance of p(α) = 0.05. The results of the analysis showed that bananas were effective in reducing blood pressure in pregnant women with a value of p=0.000. because the value of p = 0.000 < 0.05 this means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus there is an effect of giving bananas to reducing diastolic blood pressure in pregnant women it can be uses as an alternative to overcome the occurrence of hypertension in pregnancy.
