Author Guidelines

1. Articles published in the Journal of Midwifery and Nursing consist of research findings in the fields of midwifery and nursing. Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word, in Times New Roman font, size 12, with a minimum spacing of 12 points, and printed on A4-sized paper with a maximum length of approximately 20 pages. Each submission should include two printed copies and one electronic copy (soft file), submitted via the Online Submission system.
2. Articles may be written in either Indonesian or English. A research article should be structured systematically, consisting of the following components: title, author’s name, abstract with keywords, introduction, research methodology, results and discussion, conclusion and recommendations, and references.
3. The title of an article in Indonesian should not exceed 14 words, while the English title should not exceed 12 words. The title must be typed in uppercase, centered, and formatted in 14-point font size.
4. The author’s name must be written without academic degrees, accompanied by institutional affiliation, and placed below the article title. For manuscripts written by multiple authors, correspondence will only be conducted with the first (primary) author. The primary author must include a correspondence address and e-mail.
5. Abstracts and keywords must be provided in both Indonesian and English. The abstract should be 75–100 words in length, with 3–5 keywords. The abstract should include the title, objectives, methods, and research findings.
6. The introduction should include the background, research context, literature review, and research objectives, presented in an integrated paragraph form, comprising 15–20% of the total length of the article.
7. The methodology section should describe, in paragraph form, the research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis procedures. The length should be 10–15% of the total article.
8. The results section should present findings based on the analysis related to the research questions, followed by a discussion. The discussion should interpret the results and compare them with theories and/or previous research. The combined results and discussion should account for 40–60% of the article.
9. The conclusion should summarize the research findings as answers to the research questions or the essence of the discussion. Conclusions must be written in paragraph form. Recommendations should be specific, addressed to relevant parties, and presented in operational terms.
10. The reference list must include only cited sources, and all cited works must appear in the reference list. At least 80% of the references should be publications from the last ten years. References and in-text citations must follow the author–date citation style.
11. The format for quotations, references, tables, and figures in Indonesian manuscripts should follow the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling Guidelines (Depdikbud, 1987).
12. All manuscripts will undergo an anonymous peer-review process conducted by experts (reviewers) appointed by the editorial board. Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ or editors’ recommendations. The decision of acceptance or rejection will be communicated in writing.
13. Matters concerning copyright permissions, use of software, or other issues related to intellectual property rights are the sole responsibility of the authors.
14. As a prerequisite for processing, contributing authors must be registered subscribers for at least one year (two issues). Authors of accepted manuscripts will receive two copies of the published issue free of charge. Unaccepted manuscripts will not be returned unless specifically requested by the author.
15. References must be arranged alphabetically and chronologically, as illustrated in the examples provided.
