Publication Ethics
In addressing issues related to research and publication, the Journal of Applied Dental and Technology Health adheres to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in all aspects of publication ethics, particularly in relation to research and publication misconduct protocols. This journal requires that all articles involving human subjects comply with the principles of research ethics outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. Research using animals as subjects must also follow the International Principles for Biomedical Research published by the International Council of Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS).
1. Author Ethics
- Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and has not been previously published elsewhere.
- Authors must guarantee the originality of their research and correctly cite others' opinions or works according to the applicable reference format.
- Authors are prohibited from engaging in plagiarism, and the practice of "salami publishing" is not allowed.
- Any research involving human subjects must be conducted according to the ethical standards set forth in the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors must provide approval from the ethics committee and ensure that informed consent has been obtained from all study participants.
- In experiments involving animals, authors must comply with national and institutional guidelines and ensure that all efforts are made to minimize animal suffering.
- Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including those related to employment, research funding, and intellectual property rights.
2. Editor Ethics
- The editor is responsible for each article published and must assess the manuscript objectively, regardless of the author's background.
- The editor may communicate with other editors or reviewers to make the final decision.
- The editor must maintain the confidentiality of the submitted manuscripts and ensure the review process is conducted anonymously.
- The editor must respect authors' requests regarding the manuscript review and follow up on any suspected ethical violations based on COPE guidelines.
- If there is any suspicion of errors or disputes regarding authorship, the editor will resolve the issue following COPE guidelines.
3. Reviewer Ethics
- Reviewers must provide comments regarding possible errors in research and publication ethics.
- Reviewers must complete their tasks in a timely manner and inform the editor if they are unable to do so.
- Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and must not accept a manuscript if there is a conflict of interest with the author(s).
