PENGARUH KOMPRES HANGAT DENGAN NYERI HAID PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI DESA PEBALORAN KECAMATAN CURIO KABUPATEN ENREKANG
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Giving warm compresses uses the principle of delivering heat through conduction by
attaching a bottle filled with warm water to the stomach so that heat transfer from the bottle to
the stomach occurs, thereby reducing pain in women with primary dysmenorrhea, because
women with dysmenorrhea experience uterine contractions and smooth muscle contraction. The
research was conducted in May 2023. The population in this study were all young women in
Pebaloran Village, Curio District, Enrekang Regency, totaling 148 people. So the number of
samples obtained was 60 people where the sample was divided into 2 groups, namely the
intervention group of 30 people and the control group of 30 people using purposive sampling
technique. The results showed that of the 30 people in the intervention group, before being given warm compresses and pain relievers, 5 people experienced moderate pain (16.7%) and 25
people (83.3%) experienced severe pain. While the control group, before being given pain
relievers, 7 people (23.3%) experienced moderate pain and 23 people (76.7%) experienced
severe pain. The results showed that of the 30 people in the intervention group, after being
given warm compresses and pain relievers, 22 people experienced mild pain (73.3%), moderate
pain 5 people (16.7%) and severe pain 3 people (10 ,0%). While the control group, after being
given pain relievers, 14 people experienced mild pain (46.7%), moderate pain 11 people
(36.6%) and severe pain 5 people (16.7%). The results showed that there was an effect of warm
compresses on menstrual pain in young women in Pebaloran Village, Curio District, Enrekang
Regency. It is hoped that the local village authorities will always work closely with health
workers in providing counseling to young women in providing a deeper understanding of
dysmenorrhea.
