Abstract
ABSTRACT
Inspection Pap Smear Test is a method of examining cells taken from the cervix, and then
examined under a microscope to see the changes that occur from these cells. Visual Acetic Acid
(IVA) is an examination of the cervix (cervix) by looking directly (with the naked eye) at the
cervix after smearing the cervix with a 3-5% acetic acid solution. The research was conducted
from March 9 to April 9 2023. The population in this study were all women of childbearing age
who came to visit the UPT Puskesmas Sumbang, Curio District, Enrekang Regency, totaling 63
people. The sample in this study were 39 women of childbearing age who came to visit the UPT
Puskesmas Sumbang, Curio District, Enrekang Regency, using a purposive sampling technique.
The results showed that of the 39 people who were used as samples, 29 people had good knowledge (74.4%) and 10 people had less knowledge (25.6%). The results showed that of the
39 people who were used as samples, 27 people (69.2%) did an IVA test and 12 people (30.8%)
did not do an IVA test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge
about cervical cancer and IVA test in women of childbearing age with a value of ρ = 0.004.
Improving health education activities regarding early detection of cervical cancer using IVA
method by health workers to WUS through counseling, counseling or inviting them to
participate in conducting IVA examinations
