HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU DENGAN INISIASI MENYUSU DINI DI PUSKESMAS TEPPO KABUPATEN PINRANG

Abstract

Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) in the first birth is one of the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. The fourth step is written to help mothers start breastfeeding within 30 minutes after the baby is born with the breast crawl method. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of mothers and IMD at the Teppo Health Center, Pinrang Regency.

This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were mothers who had babies aged 0-6 months as many as 379 people at the Teppo Health Center, Pinrang Regency. a total of 79 respondents with purposive sampling technique.

The results showed that 4 respondents (5.1%) had less knowledge, 7 respondents (8.9%) had sufficient knowledge and 68 respondents (86.0%) had good knowledge with a p value of 0.000 <α=0.05. Negative attitudes were 8 respondents (10.1%) and positive attitudes were 71 respondents (89.9%) with a p value of 0.000 <α=0.05.

The conclusion is that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge and attitude and IMD at the Teppo Health Center, Pinrang Regency.
