Non-pharmacological interventions such as self-healing therapy are increasingly being explored as complementary approaches to labor pain management. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of self-healing therapy on pain intensity among women in the active phase of the first stage of labor. Methods: This experimental study employed a pre-test and post-test design involving 10 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Pain intensity was assessed before and after the intervention using a numeric rating scale. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test. Results: Prior to the self-healing therapy, 80% of respondents experienced moderate to severe controlled pain, and 20% experienced uncontrolled severe pain. Following the intervention, all participants (100%) reported a reduction in pain intensity to the moderate category. Statistical analysis indicated that self-healing therapy had a significant effect on reducing labor pain (p = 0.0003), with a t-value of 7.07. Conclusion: Self-healing therapy is effective in significantly reducing pain intensity during the active phase of the first stage of labor. This intervention may serve as an alternative non-pharmacological strategy for labor pain management in maternity care settings.
2025-12-24T11:36:58+08:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.itkesmusidrap.ac.id/JIKI/article/view/1721THE EFFECT OF GIVING FISH OIL ON INCREASING THE APPETITE OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN IN PAUD AND KINDERGARTEN GRENDEN PUGER JEMBER2025-12-24T14:04:54+08:00ST NUR AISYATUR RODIYAHsitiaisyah270194@gmail.com
Background: Optimal nutritional fulfillment during toddlerhood is an important determining factor in the process of child growth and development. One of the main challenges in fulfilling this nutrition is the low appetite of toddlers, which can impact inadequate nutritional intake and risk causing growth disorders such as malnutrition, wasting, and stunting. Low appetite in toddlers is often the main cause of children not getting enough energy and protein intake, even though at this age, the need for nutrients is very high to support optimal brain and physical development. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of fish oil administration on increasing toddlers' appetite. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only control group design approach. The population in this study were all toddlers aged 3–5 years registered in Kindergarten (TK) in Puger District, Jember Regency. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The number of samples in this study was 32 toddlers. Results: The group of toddlers given fish oil experienced an average weight gain of 0.70 kg with a standard deviation of 0.25 kg. Meanwhile, the control group that was not given fish oil only experienced an average weight gain of 0.20 kg with a standard deviation of 0.18 kg. Conclusion: Fish oil supplementation has been shown to be effective in increasing toddlers' appetite, as indicated by significantly higher weight gain
2025-12-24T11:42:22+08:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.itkesmusidrap.ac.id/JIKI/article/view/1718EFFECTIVENESS OF LAVENDER AROMATHERAPY BY INHALATION AND MASSAGE ON REDUCING PAIN IN THE ACTIVE PHASE OF 1ST STAGE LABOR2025-12-24T14:04:54+08:00amelia zisca devyameliaziscadevy@gmail.com
Background:

Lavender aromatherapy is a widely used non-pharmacological method to help reduce labor pain. The linalool and linalyl acetate in lavender have relaxing and analgesic effects that can reduce pain perception. However, clinical evidence based on controlled experimental designs is still needed.

Objective:
To determine the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy in reducing the intensity of labor pain in mothers giving birth in the first active phase.

Method:
The study used a randomized controlled trial design with two groups, involving 20 women who met the inclusion criteria. The intervention group (n=10) was given lavender aromatherapy inhalation for 20 minutes accompanied by lumbosacral massage using the effleurage technique, while the control group (n=10) received standard care without aromatherapy. Pain intensity was measured using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) before and after the intervention. Analysis was performed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests with a significance level of 0.05.

Results:
The lavender group experienced a 3.4-point reduction in pain, significantly higher than the control group, which only experienced a 0.9-point reduction. The difference in pain reduction between groups was statistically significant (p < 0.001). The duration of the active phase of the first stage of labor was also shorter in the lavender group (p = 0.012).

Conclusion:
Lavender aromatherapy effectively reduces the intensity of labor pain and helps shorten the duration of the active phase of the first stage of labor. This method can be recommended as a complementary intervention in labor pain management.
2025-12-24T11:45:43+08:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.itkesmusidrap.ac.id/JIKI/article/view/1704PARENTAL PARENTING STYLES AND FINE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT AMONG PRESCHOOL CHILDREN2025-12-24T14:04:55+08:00Arbiyah Arbiyaharbiyahary@gmail.comisra watiarbiyahary@gmail.com
Fine motor development is a crucial aspect of growth in preschool-aged children, as it contributes to school readiness, independence, and the coordination of hand and finger movements. Environmental factors, particularly parenting styles, play a significant role in providing the stimulation necessary to support this developmental domain. However, variations in parenting practices often lead to differences in children’s fine motor abilities. This study aims to analyze the relationship between parenting styles and the fine motor development of preschool children. A quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach was employed, involving 34 parents selected through purposive sampling. Parenting style data were collected using a questionnaire, while children’s fine motor development was assessed through structured observation. The results showed that the majority of parents applied a democratic parenting style (82.3%), and most children demonstrated normal fine motor development (79.4%). The Chi-Square test revealed a significant association between parenting style and fine motor development (p-value = 0.003). This study concludes that a democratic parenting style plays an important role in supporting the optimal fine motor development of preschool-aged children. It is recommended that parents provide appropriate stimulation through warm, communicative, and structured parenting practices, and that healthcare providers enhance education on positive parenting and routine monitoring of child growth and development.
2025-12-24T11:49:09+08:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.itkesmusidrap.ac.id/JIKI/article/view/1722THE EFFECT OF LEMON AROMATHERAPY ON EMESIS GRAVIDARUM IN PREGNANT WOMEN IN THE 1ST TRIMESTER2025-12-24T14:04:55+08:00Nelisa Qadriyyahnelisaqadriyyah23@gmail.com
BackgroundEmesis gravidarum is a condition of nausea and vomiting that is often experienced by pregnant women during the first trimester and can affect nutritional status and quality of life. Lemon aromatherapy is known to have calming and antiemetic effects, but scientific evidence regarding its effectiveness in reducing emesis gravidarum is limited.

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effect of lemon aromatherapy on the level of emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester.

Method: The research design used was an experimental pretest–posttest with a control group. The sample consisted of 30 respondents, namely 15 pregnant women in the treatment group and 15 in the control group, which were determined through consecutive sampling techniques. The level of emesis gravidarum was measured using the PUQE-24 instrument. Analysis of changes before and after the intervention was carried out using the McNemar test, while comparisons between groups used the Fisher's Exact test due to the relatively small sample size.

Results: The study results indicate that lemon aromatherapy significantly reduces the level of emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester, as indicated by a p value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). Administering lemon aromatherapy every morning for 7 days has been shown to be effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy compared to the control group.

Conclusion: Lemon aromatherapy has been proven effective as an alternative therapy in treating emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester. This intervention can be recommended to health workers, especially midwives, as a non-pharmacological approach in treating symptoms of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
2025-12-24T11:52:23+08:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
